Rocks Build Our World

Mining and aggregate production are the foundation of our business. For this reason, we educate thousands of students each year about the vital role aggregates play in our everyday lives because rocks really do build our world. The outreach program dovetails with the fourth-grade geology science curriculum and provides students a fun, interactive, and hands-on learning experience. For more information on the program, or to see if we can visit your local school, please contact Lisa Nielson at lisa.nielson@stakerparson.com.

Bridging the Gap Program

Bridging the Gap is a mobile distribution program that visits schools to provide low-income students with two grocery bags full of food to help them “bridge the gap” between school meals during the weekend. We are proud to have the opportunity to be involved! A special thank you to Catholic Community Services of Utah for allowing us to help! Staker Parson Companies volunteers had a lot of fun joining Bridging the Gap of Northern Utah at a Weber school district elementary school and hope to continue volunteering time in the future.

Truck Smart

We proudly dedicate our time to encouraging and teaching safe driving practices. UDOT’s Zero Fatalities Truck Smart program teaches driver education students the importance of driving safely around trucks by teaching them things like truck’s “No-Zones” by showing students the truck’s blind spots first-hand while allowing them to sit inside the big trucks.

We believe in strengthening the communities we serve through awareness campaigns and community initiatives. We support our Most Don’t, an initiative in Tooele County to change the perception that most teens drink when in fact, Most Don’t. We have also formed a partnership with Parents Empowered, Utah’s media and education campaign designed to prevent and reduce underage drinking. Several trucks from our ready-mix fleet feature innovative graphic messages to encourage parents to set concrete “no drinking” rules for their teens.
